Active Safety
There have been over 40,000 recorded e-scooter injuries, and numerous related deaths since 2018. These incidents are alarming. They also contribute to skepticism of the rental scooter industry. Collision detection technology has been proven in the automotive industry to greatly reduce the number of accidents that take place. Our premier solution relies on sensors, electronic controls, and alert devices to keep riders cognizant of potential impacts.
Pedestrian Hazard Detection
GEKOT’s Collision Detection system implements a variety of sensors and controls to detect potential hazards. The system then alerts the e-scooter rider of such hazards so that they can take action to avoid a collision. The solution identifies hazards like cars, pedestrians, and bikes (as e-scooters are used on roads, sidewalks, and bike lanes). The invention alerts the rider to hazards directly in the path of the e-scooter so that the rider can take quick action to avoid an accident. Our solution uses off-the-shelf technology and can be integrated into any light electric vehicle.
Blind Spot Ditection
eScooter and e-bike riders agree that It is a bit unnerving when a faster vehicle passes close by. Often you do not even hear the approaching vehicle which can be quite the surprise. Our Blind Spot detection system alerts the rider when a nearby vehicle is about to pass. Lights on the instrument panel indicate which side the vehicle is approaching from.
Incident Detection
GEKOT technology notifies fleet managers of vehicle incidents like falls and accidents. Such alerts direct maintenance personnel to perform an urgent safety check on the involved vehicle. On board technology collects critical crash data about incidents that might otherwise go unreported. This type of information allows city decision makers to analyze accident trends in an effort to mitigate infrastructure issues. GEKOT’s Incident Detection system can interact with 3rd party live assistance services that alert emergency responders.
